What advice do you have for organizing the best 10 year class reunion?

I want to know what people have loved and hated about their reunions. What were you charged? Did you think it was reasonable? What awards were given? What activities were done? What was the best part? How would you organize it if it were all up to you? Thanks! What advice do you have for organizing the best 10 year class reunion?
We had a 3 days of events for our 10th reunion. The first night was a reception at the fancy hotel in town, with appetizers and a no-host bar. The fee was around $20. The next night was at the local salmon bake, where we had dinner for about $20. (I would have liked a more high-end event, and would have paid the higher price for it.) The last day was an all-family picnic, which was a free potluck, with some of the items purchased with class funds.

One of the best parts was our class book. We (the reunion committee) sent out blank pages for everyone to fill in, chronicling their changes since graduation. Some people did them in advance, and many did them during the events (side note: it is entertaining to see what people will write about themselves after a few beers). These pages were copied and made into booklets that were sent out to everyone who submitted a page.

Be sure you start notifying classmates early 鈥?a 12-month save-the-date card would be good. Also consider a website to broadcast updated information; we used Geocities to create a free page, and it now shows up in web searches. For snail-mail, I uploaded a spreadsheet of names and addresses to NetPost at USPS.com and sent hundreds of postcards at the touch of a button. Be sure to note which postcards are returned to sender, and add a section on your website for ';lost classmates';, so that people can tell you what they know about people鈥檚 whereabouts.

Finally, keep good records from this reunion so that the next reunion will be a breeze!
