Any advice to stop a hot water faucet from squeaking?

I have an old-fashioned clawfoot bathtub. Usually, the water pressure and temp is fine, but lately, the hot water pressure is a bit low (in the tub only; the kitchen and bathroom sink pressure is fine. Cold water bathtub pressure is fine as well) and there is this terrible, high-pitched squealing noise whenever I turn on the bathtub faucets. It just started two days ago. Any suggestions on what it is and how I might fix it? I'd love to remodel the bathroom, but I rent. Thanks a bunch!Any advice to stop a hot water faucet from squeaking?
The high pitch squealing is due to the rubber washer not screwed in tight enough. Would mean you turning off the water supply to the tub and then dismantling the faucet so you can get at the rubber washers. There is a screw in the centre of the washer and you just need to make that tighter and make sure the washer is seated good under the screw.Any advice to stop a hot water faucet from squeaking?
The squeal sound is most likely from the velocity of water trying get through the hot water valve on the bath faucet.

Most of the faucets on those tubs are old

and not the greatest of quaility anyway.

a. Could be bad seat (worn rubber seal)

b. scale builds up in the lines (especially hot) causing problem with flow.

Try to take out the valve stem and replace seat. May need to buy a new faucet.
Some how, you have gotten air into the hot water pipes to your bath tub. Is there a shower head above the tub, if so, open it, on the hot water side. You need to get the air out of that pipe. I would, however, turn off the hot water heater first, or just use the shower to fill the tub until the air has been vented from the pipes. That air can reduce the flow of water, which you obviously now have proof of.
