Any advice on how to stop a cat from peeing on my front porch?

There is this stray cat that keeps peeing on my porch (i have a carpet on it) and everytime i open my front door to get the mail, i wanna gag!!! Any tricks to clean the smell and stop the thing from doing that?Any advice on how to stop a cat from peeing on my front porch?
There is a pet odor %26amp; urine spray you can get at Walmart, the grocery store or at a pet store. All you do is spray it on the carpet, let it dry then dab it with a sponge and it takes the terrible smell out.

Btw, it can clean out blood, vomit, feces and spray as well, so it's really effectiveAny advice on how to stop a cat from peeing on my front porch?
aparantly if u put down pepper it keeps them away ... not sure if thats jus in the garden tho...worth a try!
spread ammonia around the cat will not go again
Use any kind of pet carpet cleaner, first. Second, I recommend those sticky sheets from the pet store. you can line the entrance to the porch with them. cats hate them. But first you must get rid of the smell, if the cat smells it, or rather any cat does, they'll do their damdest to piss there again and again, especially strays, they love to mark their territory
I'm going to be lazy and link you to a similar question that I answered, and my answer includes a link to a question I asked.
if the cat pee'd there once when it comes back to your house it will smell the oder and pee again.

a good way to get rid of the smell is to soak it in vinagar and water. (3/4 vinagar 1/4 water) this will make the smell go away and the cat should stop peeing there .. happy to help!
Cats are hard to train. I still haven't gotten my 12 mo kitty to stop with the claws on my sofa.

There's something at petco called nature's... It's a spray for neutralizing the smell.

I don't know how big your porch is, but you could cover it with plastic. Cats won't (mine won't) pee on plastic.

You can rig a motion sensor to make a loud noise whenever the cat (or any animal, or person for that matter) steps on the porch.

Cats really don't like upside down welcome mats...like the ones that have nibbles all over the back.

Best wishes. Drs. Smith %26amp; Foster (a pet store on line) has lots of ideas...

first there are some carpet cleaning solution that can help and next place a strong smell, like a parfumes sent on it, which will disturbe the cats nose, or just try to remove the carpet. If I would u I would be proud to know that a part of my porch is a part of a stray cats teritory and every day it gets marked:P
When it needs to pee provoke him/her to go outside to do it until she/he gets used to doing that
